Whilst most of us have assigned 2020 to the bin, for this month’s Woman of Influence, Maria Dusicka (or Masha as she is known to her friends) it was eventful for all the right reasons. “From engagement, to getting married then welcoming our daughter. It’s the most overwhelming yet wonderful time for my husband and I and we couldn’t be happier”. Maria’s husband is Slovak rapper Majk Spirit and the two of them make quite the stylish couple.
“I could, however, have a few more hours of sleep a day but we’re not here to talk about that.” Not that the lack of sleep shows, Maria is as radiant as ever when we meet poolside in Dubai during her first family holiday to the city she used to call home. The former model is the lucky recipient of “that glow”, it’s the kind that can’t be bought, but she also swears by Colbert, Eye Lift Serum for a little assistance.
We asked her what she wore in 2020 and it will come as no surprise that tracksuits were high up the list. Maria admitted to “practically living” in Pangaia tracksuits and oversized knits, a must for any new mum or lockdown prisoner.
This year she is taking indoor comfort to the streets with neutral pallets, oversized cardigans and shearling slides. “I’d recommend investing in a statement handbag, one of the classics that can be used seasons over”. Looking ahead she hopes to revisit London and Bali this year and listed St. Regis Bora Bora as the bucket list destination (hopefully she will take us with her).
It’s great to see Maria back in Dubai and loving family life, she says the thing that makes her laugh the most is “my daughter’s reaction to the silly faces I make and the sounds she creates to express excitement”. Happiness is a good colour on her...
